Is there anyone at all here that can tell me anything at all that I could do to make this worthy enough to share with everyone instead of being stuck on my personal page where nobody will ever see it?
it is quite pretty and a good start... but essentially it looks like just a couple of filter effects... a few clicks of a button..
I did a pic with some filter effects once... lots of effects... and it ended up a very pretty, marbled trails look... but I knew it wouldn't be of much interest as it was, so wondered how I could add a feature to complement its shapes and give it a presence... I came up with this, and it proved very popular... link... not everyone's cup of tea.. but it worked out ok...
I have many walls I've tinkered with that are unfinished that just didn't end up clicking... I think you will find others are like that too... you have to keep it evolving until you are happy with the end product... keep it on the back burner and come back to it after awhile and do some more tinkering... but if you get stuck on just one and obsess about why it doesn't work... you are wasting time not getting stuck into the next one that might click and continuing the learning process...
I'd suggest you wander back through the gallery too.. instead of finding ones that aren't great, to compare your work to.... find ones that do work and look at why..
these are a few plain blue ones by v that I enjoy using... very simple... but they work well... link... link... link.... and these.. link.. link..
I'm no 'wallpaper artist' but we can all have fun dabbling...it's a matter of learning to have that eye as to when it is right and when it is lacking...
here is the link again... link to a 'wallpapers in progress' thread that I suggested before... or, start your own.. I think that would get more focussed response from some of our experienced artists... and you can also improve your skills with tutorials as well...
good luck... keep at it...
