actually we are constantly moving forward in time
how do you know we are not functioning in a 4th space dimension. would a 2-d Creator know if it was a 3-d space or a 1-d in a 2-d space.
i believe that the 4th diminsion is going to turn out to be size not time.
Actually we don't function in 4-D, we do move "forward" in time but it's not the same.
To really function in 4-D will be the abillity to move freely on the time line.
To better understand this take a plain paper and draw an upside down view of an house and in the living room draw a smiley, that is 2-D world (AKA flatland) you have the ability to see every thing in flatland, you can touch everything in flatland and little smiley man don't know that you are there, he have no understanding of the idea of depth he can't see through the lines of the house just like we can't see through walls.
Now take one step back and think of use as the little guys in 3-D land and this bug dude who looks at us from above and can see and touch every thing in our present past and future.
Back to the subgect of Gas giants, I would really love for them to be huge uncolonizable planets with huge gravity wells and lots of resource roids.
