every game I play is a campaign, it's a new story every game! seriously though most 4x games never really had that much of a linear storyline you are looking for, just the lore that goes with the universe to back whats happening in the game world.

lol I remember reading the history of the master of orion 3 races longer than playing the game, and it was more interesting, but master of orion 2 was more addicting.

I'm sure if you want a campaign though it might be moddable? don't quote me on that though im a sins nooblet.

I assume because a map can take several hours to finish? I can understand it but it is odd for a game to not have a campaign.

I was a bit disappointed with the lack of a campaign, it would be nice to be able to expand and further explore the story.
