Nice post. I just caught the latest
GFW Radio Podcast; it's good to hear those guys giving Sins some love. I respect those guys' opinions and am looking forward to their full review in the magazine. I love Jeff's quote regarding the game's power to consume so much time: "Good-bye, life."
This may have been mentioned in another post, but seems applicable here: there's an interview with Blair Fraser, producer/developer of Sins, on the
PC Gamer Podcast, episode 118. I definitely recommend listening. This is what initially got me interested in the game, and it's just cool to hear Blare's passion as he talks about the game. You can tell he's a hardcore gamer.
I don't usually play RTSs as I'm mostly into shooters, RPGs, and MMOs. In fact, the only RTS games I've played are Warcraft II, Starcraft, and Warcraft III, which are pretty elementary considering the scope of Sins. Then I started hearing the buzz about this game, not to mention Stardock's cool philosophy, and decided to give it a try. Now I'm pretty much hooked. I'm glad the game has garnered so much success so far and that the word is getting out.
