Hello all,
I've been on and off the sins forum for quite a while (am still saving up money to buy it though)... a few times before IC joining hands with SD... and more after. I remember such thrill I had when discovering the partnership deal, as I've played GC2 before and I loved it & how SD + community-friendly-attitude + frequent updates = total win... I see this partnership as a very unique phenomenon, and the fact that SD is itself also experienced in game development makes me believe that this publisher-developer relationship is much tightly knit than typical, as both can understand each other better than would have been possible with a dev-illiterate publishing-only company. Not only that, since Brad's AI programming in the GC series is well-lauded by all, surely one would hope that he would have a hand in SoaSE's AI development as well...
Thus it made me wonder: what kind of changes to the game have SD brought to the table? what ideas are originally IC's, what ideas are originally SD's, and what ideas are the results of collaboration of both powerhouses?
p/s: yikes! I sound like such a SD-fanboi... not that I look down on IC at all, far from that... it's just that I never had any experience with IC/Barking Dog before, so I dunno what praises to shower to you guys as well other than what I heard from others here... had I had a taster of HW:Cataclysm myself, I bet I would know what to appreciate out of you guys as well...
