Credits, metal, crystal, all incomes reduced for the rest of the game. That makes fleet supply upgrades by FAR the most expensive in the game. And since capital ships are a huge drain on that supply limit...

No, you don't seem to understand. You never overcome it. It's a percentage of your income.

So when the fleet supply is costing you 19% (after the second upgrade) it costs you 19% of all your income, every second. So if you have 1 planet with 100 credit, 10 metal and 10 crystal coming in each second, the fleet supply is costing you 19 credits, 2 metal and 2 crystal every single second.

Later ,when you have lots of planets and lots of income, it costs more. So if you have 10000 credits, 1000 metal and 1000 crystal coming in, it's costing you 1900 credits, 190 metal and 190 crystal every second. Forever. It never stops.

You can't "overcome" it. It's a percentage. And over time the fleet supply is vastly VASTLY more than the cost of a lab, or the cost of research. And if you're "maxing it out" quickly, then you are just costing yourself resources for no reason. The trick is to live with the least supply you can get away with, not to max it out. It doesn't matter how long it takes to max out, it matters how long it takes to actually fill it up with useful ships without being murdered by the other guy first.

Then what does this mean?

You're saying fleet supply should cost more, even though it's already the most expensive upgrade in the game, by far. You're saying that it's "too fast to max out" when maxing it out fast is suicide.

I'm trying to help here, but either I don't understand what you're saying, or you don't understand what I'm saying. Do you want to rephrase what you're trying to say? Or at least show me what you think I'm saying? That is, saying "I know that" to a lengthy explanation about why what you said made no sense doesn't really tell me anything. You know you made no sense? You know all the reasons that what you're asking for makes no sense, but you don't care? Are you satisfied with the answer, or do you dispute it? If you dispute it, which bit, and why?

So, what you are saying is that capital ship upgrades can only be upgraded based on how many military labs you have. i.e. if you have one military lab, you can only upgrade the capital ship up one level. You cannot upgrade more until you build another military lab. Also you are saying, that unit upgrade or supply should be based on civilian labs, because it is easy to max out the supply. However, your reason is flawed. the unit supply is based on military units, i.e. frigates, cruisers, and capital ships. civilian ships don't need supply, i.e. trade ships, constructor ships, mining ships.

Smelly Terror is right in regards, that if you upgrade too fast, you will lose more money over time. You can upgrade as fast as you want. The game should give you the option of upgrading the supply as fast as you want. The kicker is, it will cost you the long run.
