Pirate Bidding

Is there a way to do it without this gigantic window in my face?

I'm going to have a kid soon so the liklihood of my playing multiplayer games that take hours is not going to happen.

So, I play single player.

The one thing that drives me nuts the most is that I could have thousands of gold ahead of my enemy but as soon as that thing ticks down to 0, the AI up bids me.

Its easy to get distracted if Im in battle or something. Setting some form of "max" bid would be great. Allowing me to bid and see hte status on the window at all times would be even better.

If i recall correctly, you get a 'Your bounty has increased' message on the bottom left, a picture of a pirate on that little box and they even say it, so you could start playing with sound on?

Otherwise, just stare at the bounty screen until you see the little sword by whoever's name, altjhought i have to agree, it would be nice if you could scroll over the bounty screen and an infocard listing highest bounty, your bounty and time remaining.

So your response to my asking "Is there any way around staring at the bounty screen" is "Stare at the bounty screen."

And I do play with my sound on but as I mentioned, getting distracted in battle prevents me from noticing. Also, when Im fighting, I really don't think it always says it. Not only that but as I also mentioned, they upbid just before the end.

Would you have preferred it if i lied to you and said there was a magical button that automatically raises bounty to match your own?

you asked and i gave you the only answer i know/had, and i and many people regularly play 1 vs 9 hard ai's and they don't always add bounty at the last second.

Edit - Just thought of something, try adding 1,000(or whatever ammount) to 1 ai,and then 750 to another ai, this should typically draw attention away from you.

No. I don't require a lie. Typically when I don't have an answer, I don't answer. Or, in your case, you might have said, "No, I don't think there's a way."

I probably wouldn't have responded but you assumed I play with my sound off.
