Beta Ships

I remember when I first downloaded the beta when it was originally released. The game was so different, and the capital ships felt powerful, the TEC felt human. Now not so much, is it possible to get the original TEC ships back? They felt more human, more industrial.

The original Kol Battleship and Marza Dreadnought were my favorite, and both felt powerful and had a ugly beauty about them.

The only ship that changed is the Kol. Everything else stayed the same

They felt more powerful because the flagship started as a level 3, compared to level 1 now.

No I am talking about the very first beta release. All TEC capital ships had different models with different firing arcs and the Dreadnought had considerable more forward firepower.

well... i for one think the ship models in the actual game release are better looking than the beta.

Hmmm I wonder if we can get the original TEC ships out of the beta and use them to make a different race

That page that lists the beta ships reminds me of the Escape Velocity series...

Anyway, I prefer the new Kol, but I think the old Marza looks better. I'm kinda indifferent about the Dunov design either way though, both look ugly in my opinion, The new one looks like a block, but the old is just a block with some more block attached to it.

Hmmm even if I added the beta ships to the TEC it still wouldn't match their art style now. They were a totally different (visually anyways) race back then

The older 3d models certainly have a charm to them. Although the new models look a lot more refined.

It would be soo cool to play a game with the old models

Its good to see people excited about the original TEC Beta ships, now if Ironclad would just release them as a download that would be awesome.

Or release all the original ships from the three races as an add-on, sort of like a view into the past.

But definitively they should release the original Beta Marza and Kol, the new ones though nice are not the same.

I heard DANMAN got ahold of the Beta Kol and he's gonna bring that back for a "subrace" of the TEC. IDK about how we can get ahold of the Beta Marza though...

I wish Beta 1 was back. Even though the game had much missing and was TEC vs. TEC, It had a simple elegance to it.
