VISTA IS DEAD!
What a load of old bollocks! Vista runs great on decent equipment and with SP1 is far more stable than XP ever was.... what's more, it looks prettier than that Fisher Price look MS had the audacity to infflict upon users of XP.
I've been using Vista since the 1st public beta was released and I only ever had one BSOD, and that was due to a faulty graphics card. Moreover, I've been running Vista Home Premium x64 for about a year and only ever had freeze-up if I ran *say* a video recorder; a video converter; TV on my second monitor and had a browser or 2 open, but that wasn't the fault of Vista.... my CPU wasn't up for it and I over-taxed it..... doesn't happen now I have an AMD Phenom II x4 920 with 8 gigs of RAM.
Sure Vista requires better than average hardware, but isn't that the way PC's are going anyway.... faster, more powerful machines with high-end graphics. Seems to me MS wanted to keep up with the times, and the only reason Vista wasn't the success it should have been is that there were so many Neanderthals running their beloved XPee on Stone-Age equipment who just wouldn't let go and move into the new technological era.

Funny thing, that, I recall many saying that XP would have to be prised from their cold dead hands, and a lot of 'em aren't dead, yet they're quite happily running Vista these days on decent rigs that perform beyond their widest dreams, and thus are glad they upgraded from their old 486's, P2's and rigs powered by hamsters in wheels. Yup, progress is a marvellous thing, but I still see detractors and naysayers coming out of the woodwork to put the carbosh on Win 7, a far superior OS to Vista and all that came before it.
Win 7 is faster and less hardware intensive because MS listened to the hamster runners who still wanna keep their machines from the Dark Ages, but sadly, that won't be enough to win sime hardcore XPers over. Nope, Win 7 doesn't have the cute puppy while doing searches, so it'll get knocked on the head straight away.
Oh well, if they want to hang on to what should be a Museum of Antiquity piece, that's their choice, I guess. Me, well I'm gonna drink a few less shandies and cut back on my food intake (need to lose weight anyhow) so I can afford Win 7 when it goes on sale.
