right, so im playing a few games of Sins, and not alot of the time, but enough to be irritating, i find mines deploying in funny locations.
For instance, i find Advent homing mines located in the center of planets, or practically touching the surface of a sun, well out of range for anything to destroy it.
TEC mines will also deploy funny. ill click on the edge of the well, and 9/10 mines will deploy within the circle, but 1 will deploy on the other side of the GW, well outside the deployment circle. Funny thing is they will cluster together as often as not.
Its nothing monumental, its a simple matter of scuttling the out of place ones and re-deploying. however it is quite irritating. i also find that when an AI fleet jumps into your mined system at the same place every time, that location starts to become a little sparse of mines, because when you re-deploy them, they seem to clump together, and not... for lack of a better word, evenly, so that you end up having small paths through your minefield.
vasari mines arent usually a problem, as they can only deploy where a ship can fly, which makes sense, but mainly the two methods that dont rely on realistic minelaying are problemattic.
aside from mines clumping together sometimes, the weird deployment needs to be fixed. its just irritating having cleared a planet, then freaking out everytime i glance at the structure pip because there is still one little mine waiting harmlessly in the center of a planet.
on the deployment note, i think the ability to precision deploy mines (i.e. 1 by 1, at least as TEC, i dont see the other races needing it) would be good. it would help to fine-tune and manicure minefields
