It serves it's purpose. It does provide a topic to discuss (you can discuss the chat log), therefore, it is a legitimate topic.
So if I start a thread titled (and themed) "strikesback5 is a troll", it must be quite legitimate as it provides a topic to discuss not matter its conetent. The fact that it would get locked/deleted by mods and that I would get in unnecesary (for my liking) trouble means nothing, right?
And why do you think this is some kind of blog?
Because he wouldn't get so much attention in a blog? Because some people have a wrong idea of what Off Topic truly means?

You are? (respected, I mean) Not that I visit too many Stardock forums to know that, so honest question there.
Off topic isn't a blog, twitter, diary,... And neither means "Post anything you want" or "Spam Here, please". People that voluntarily ignores this, deserves any scorn of similar feeling generated by the disrespectful attitude. Just my opinion. Hmmm Maybe a could start a thread about it...
