This is indeed a great game, and I'm enjoying it a great deal, but there's something that really bugs me about every RPG since Betrayal at Krondor.
It's the compulsion to rummage through every barrel and crate scattered all over every town and forest. There's never anything of value there, but if I don't mess with it, I might be short on money by the end of the game if I haven't accumulated every piece of junk. Never mind that this might be stealing! When I barge into someone's home on official hero business, I don't even say hello until every lock is picked and everything of meager value is collected. Then I say to the resident, "So, who are you?" Combine this with the fact that inventory space is limited and this ends up eating up most of your time. Usually, dungeon crawls must be cut short in order to offload the 60 items of junk on some poor vender who buys any old rotten pair of gloves that you found in a cave somewhere.
I'm not sure if I'm going to attempt a mod for this game, because there's a ton of work involved (toolset looks promising!), but if I do, glittering chests and boxes will be for plot items only LOL.
