Now I'm sure you minimalist types would say it's unnessecary.  You'd say you can do without.  But I say IT'S HELPFUL, YOU CAN STORE THOUSANDS OF RECIPES FOR COOKING AND DON'T NEED TONS OF COOKBOOKS LAYING AROUND, AND SO IT MAKES THINGS EASIER.

Now, how about my banking pc?

Now I KNOW you minimalist types will crucify me over this!  How DARE I use another pc for banking?!  How dare I have keyboards with lights on them for nearly every pc?!

Well you guys talk to me when you visit the wrong site and your identity gets stolen, um k?  No sites accept cookies except for bank sites.  Flash and javascript are both turned off.  All of my pcs use standard user, but this one is protected out the ass an automatically deleted all internet use at the end.  Pics and video is also disabled online.

Now you guys may talk to me like I'm stupid, but I know that at any given point sites can be hacked.  Even the bank ones yes, but at the LEAST I can protect myself the best way I can.

Oh and the lit up keyboards?  It's HELPFUL.  You don't need lgihts and you can easily find keys.  You also can see what is going on with your pc diagnostics easily.

Now what about a fully automated kitchen?

Unnecessary?  Yes, but so is most of today's stuff, so go live in a cave.  I don't have to mop, and I feed and give water to my cats one a month.

Did you win the lottery?? You're livin' like James Bond with all that techy stuff. That's just awesome, and I'm honestly jealous. My desk consists of my laptop and........ a Galileo thermometer. If I had half of those things, I'd be showing off too haha. As for the issue of how to get more desk space, I would suggest building a shelf along the entire wall and getting a chair that rolls really well.

Actually everyone let's just leave him alone.  I believe after seeing the last batch of photos that the man has a condition called "Hoarding", which is a serious condition only recently identified by the medical community.  So let us wish him the best and hope he gets medical attention soon.

Looking at this latest batch of photos you certainly aren't the type to ever be concerned with "desk space" except maybe from the perspective of where you can plop down another electric gizmo.  Seriously, look at these latest pictures yourself objectively (if you can) and you'll see what I'm talking about.  Any available SURFACE in your home seems to have some kind of gizmo squatting on it.

"Deskspace" as I know it doesn't even exist in your home.  I think you should re-title your thread "I need more SPACE" 

DK I really hope you're not taking offence to my remarks, I'm just pointing out what I see as inconsistencies and my god man......you have a lot of stuff!!

Anyway, I think I've said my piece......you just need to make a choice.......that being what to get rid of to make more SPACE or build/buy a bigger home.  There may not really be another option if you in fact "use" all of that stuff.

I would look into ergonomics and make sure your chair is properly placed at the right hight and distance from keyboard. You should not have to look up at any monitors. The shelving idea is good to clear some floor space.

Good luck with that, but previous suggestions relating to ergonomics and anthropomorphics have been classified as 'unhelpful'.

As DrJBHL commented, workspace design is a science whose rules are quite defined and inviolable.....which leads to the adage....

Well, maybe you should adjust where your desk is.  If you aren't willing to get rid of anything because you are convinced you absolutely need it all then you should thing about a total space re-arrangement.  If you could get a wall behind your desk, you could wall mount almost all of those monitors except the touch screen.  Then you'd have more space on your desk for more stuff. 

Seriously, you have a lot of "crap".  What you need to do is look at what you have and if you havn't used it in the last 6 months to a year, get rid of it.  Some of that stuff has quite a layer of dust on it proving that it hasn't been used in awhile.  Sell it on eBay and make some money off of it.  Someone will buy it.  Then you'd have more money for newer stuff.    Like a bigger desk.  And wall mounts.
