It's "liberated".
The manual has been released early. I'd suggest saving it rather then opening it in a browser, as it's quite large (233 pages, 25MB).
That's a nice manual. I wish it verified a few more things on MP, but maybe that's just my new response to MP after Paradox and Stardock MP disasters. I will assume it's the same as it has always been, lots of options and robust.
If you have questions about MP post them. Some of info is already available.
Some info which isnt in this thread (AFAIK):
PBEM and Hotseat will be available some time after release
Default MP lobby setting is for simultaneous turns, but "normal" turns are also option.
Steamcloud support (for 10 saves) was also confirmed.
Well it's difficult to post a question about what has not changed. I've been playing Civ for... a long time and certain things just seem "normal" to me at this point.
Typically how I play is with 1-3 people as separative civs who do not start as team play but eventually team up when we "find" each other and cooperate against the AI. So it's team play without actually being in a team from the get go. As long as we can do that, have the AI to play against, I am pretty much happy. Having the AI in MP seems available from the one page on MP. Being able to team up and win together, maybe not. Or in many cases we just don't compete directly but there is still one winner.
We are typically not local, and I also have a Steam account so I am a bit aware of how it works on that front. Basically if MP is setup up like Civ IV, then that has all we want.
