Here's a long replay of a 1v1v1 on Regular vanilla Sins. So for everyone who's been asking for one, this is it. Unfortunately it's not a pro game since the other two players were newish. See if you can figure out which player I was.
It's kind of embarrassing since I had a hard time taking out a new player, but I had a relatively crappy starting spot and he got to build up (or should have) while I was taking down the other guy. The end result was a long game with two fronts. I just could not get a good eco up on this map since our ships were dancing around bombing one another in the back. I eventually won the game with a culture bombing which my opponent didn't seem to know how to counter. Perhaps he was too focused on fleeting and not enough on culture and eco, resulting in a large fleet but a high tax without an eco to back it up. He also didn't seem to upgrade his planet populations beyond the minimum based on the end-of-game stats. (Or maybe it's just that I had bombed out most of his planets and that it was taking a while for the populations to recover.) I'd say this game is a good example of the power of culture when used against someone who doesn't understand it.
I guess I am a little embarrassed since I couldn't knock the last guy out quickly, but the writing was on the wall. I had the eco and just needed to fleet up more and would have won via a battle of attrition had he not declared me to be a lame player and then quit. (By attrition I mean, the loss of one of his ships would hurt him far more than the loss of one of mine would hurt me.) My other problem was that I never formed a proper battle ball since my caps were out bombing in the back.
