Funny story yet a little sad: I was playing a game yesterday with two friends and we were allied against three AIs. They were normal AIs (we later agreed that hard would have been better, but we still had fun). Andrew was in the same system as me and Chris was off on his own. He held his own and took down one of the two AIs in his system. Meanwhile I took a planet that was connected to one of the enemy capital worlds and Andrew did the same from the other side, trapping the AI. After a joint strike on his capital well, we sent what were now two pretty impressive fleets to the pirate base and took it out as well. We added more ships to the two fleets and jumped to Chris' system where what was now three mega fleets met by the star. We got ready to jump, poised to rip through the pirate base for Chris' system, and then we would take out the remaining AI. These fleets consisted of Titans, wave upon wave of capitals and cruisers, long lines of frigates, and a thick cloud of bomber wings. I said, "Wait, let me get this straight. We're about to send all three of these massive fleets into that little well? This will be over before it begins." It would be an overkill, but we weren't turning back so we started to jump and - score screen! One or more of Chris' multiple Novaliths had apparently taken out the remaining AI capital.
