OK, my true story embarrassing confession: I forgot to put down a turret after settling a planet to take out the siege frigate. My shame is public, too. 

LRMs against sb rush are wrong choice anyway. If he is smart he will pump corvettes after sb is planted and LRMs die to them way to fast. LF is better in my humble opinion.

0-4Minutes: Looks great so far, U could scuttle the cap fac now to save time later and you should also micro the colofrig colonizing the roid so it can survive on the roid instead of jumping it away.
This way u can grab the Moon(Kasuga) afterwards.


5-7 Min: By now you know that there is 3-4 volc nearby and that there is 3 uncolonizeable in a row.
You should start putting up civlabs asap.
and IMO you shoulda threwn in some discs faster with those vettes to counter flak to avoid unnecessary losses.

7-9 Min: U got 3 free logisticslots. 4 Counting with the cap fac slot. You're losing time. You should try to grab the neutrals asap. Send them ahead of the fleet with or wihtout support.
2 colo frigs idling on hw.
Start upgrading Laser. You're having too much resources.

9-10 Min: By now you got enough intel by scouting to know that the enemy will not be able to rush you. You shoulda gotten the 2 civlabs earlier and by now u coulda had the volc and/or icetech,Culture,terran pop.

Between 10 and 16 minutes, the only thing I thought about is that ur not getting the terranpop. You could also gotten the first 2 levels of metal extraction as you got some spares.
Queue up all extractors on volc or pay more attention.

17 Min: Fleet idling at neuts. Instead of trying to grab the ice. I woulda gone straight for volcanic as I would assume that my opponent woulda gotten that ice already.

Stage from Volc is the best option here Imo.

18 Min: You upgrade infrastructure on ur new roid, but u forget the extractors. Still 2 extractors missing on volc.
Still no laser or terran pop.

19 Min: Terran pop queued. you choose to go trough gas giant. Luckily, he isn't at ice yet. Sadly tho, you haven't planned ahead and you don't have the ice tech yet.
Also if u watch the replay, you can do a count on numbers of neuts he grabbed by 20min, and the numbers of neuts you grabbed. It's something like ur 2 to his 10.
You need better pace here.


20 Min: You got shitloads of resouces. U could research more. Ur fleeting from 1 factory and that factory is at homeworld.
You would be better of getting 2 facs on roid untill you can produce from another planet. Saving 2 jumps.

22 Min: Scout ur opponent. If u woulda done that, you woulda seen that he got next to nothing. Ur fieldind around 40 vettes with some disc and a lvl 3 Halcyon meaning 5-6 Strikecrafts.
If u woulda put pressure on him instead you coulda taken that ice more easily.
Again ur wasting time sitting on a planet.
If u don't want to be agressive, u coulda gone for the volcanic instead.

30 Min: The moment he put up his starbase at that ice. U shoulda gone back. If u wanna fight untill the Sb is finished, don't FF egg. Kill his fleet and start moving the Halcyon to the other edge instantly to avoid loss.
If u wanna kill a sb, u need alot more Lf then 10.

31 Min: You're retreating. Imo in wrong direction. U should go for volc now.

After that, You got tons of resources. U could scuttle the Cap fac, get 2 more mil labs and start with illums/bombers/destras.
U could probably kill him easily if u would have a faster pace and plan ahead some more.

U colo ice before any of 2 roids connected to hw. 11 min to colo first roid. You are not building resource roids on all of your planets and you research to many things... ilums + guardians 25 into the game ????

While you pushed him back instead to push him deeper into his territory you decide to go for roid instead for his factory planet and you are letting him build star base in your gravity well... while fighting blue TEC you ADVERNT need to use strenght of advewnt which is weapons on all sides. 

While you and yelow were parked to defend planet I would split fleet and send yelow or urs fleet to planet ahead .... That would force them to fleet more or opened sb which was still quite weak. 

50 min into the game you are sitting on a lot of res that could be used for research.

When you saw blues titan I would invest in repulse....

TBH if mags had any idea how to play this game u would have lost .....

Another skilled 5v5.  Still feel like i'm improving, if only in baby steps.  I still think positional play is something i need to work on and not getting my Caps focus fired down :/

Please any feedback on this or my previous replays would be appreciated.  Seems that Ruby is in the middle of some life shit, but I know there are quite a few other higher level players that can throw in their two cents.  The more perspectives the better.

VL has its own weak points and if you play A or T and allows VL titan to get to high level....thats your own or your teammates fault. Every race is meant to be played differently. Go play VL and see if you can do the same thing vs a pro A or T player before coming to a conclusion.
