Thanks. I'll tell my friends too. How is multiplayer actually like in this game? It seemed less 4X-y and more like an RTS but I wasn't sure if the video I watched was representative of it.
The competitive scene is definitely more RTS like. If you're mainly playing with your friends though it can be quite different, especially since at first you won't be at the "pro" level. I've put a few of my games on my Youtube channel, the flagship and Pro versus modders game is more how the large team PVP games that dominate multiplayer tend to be, while the Modders free for all show things can be a bit less serious among friends (note some of those videos are from Diplomacy, not Rebellion).
Is there like alot of MEANINGFUL strategy to it? Is the PvP still evolving or has it been fairly mined out? Hopefully I'll get an honest answer from someone. People like to inflate things about the games they like.
To be honest I haven't had time to check how things are online much recently, but Sins PvP tends to eventual stabilize at a core group of regular dedicated players. A lot of people just play comp stomps with their friends as well. That said, there is a major new patch about to come out along with a little DLC, both of which will probably increase player counts and force even the veterans to experiment with new strategies, so it would be an ideal time to get into the PVP scene then.
