The Goal:
All Players will do their turns simultaneous, but unlike CIV5 or Endless Space you cant hit an Enemy spaceship by just clicking faster then your Opponent. I dont want this only for speedup the game, i want to have another tactical component too.
The solution:
Each round will have two phases. The movement-/planetmanagementphase and the battlephase.
The Movementphase:
In the movement phase you plan the movements of your ships and build your empire. If you want to catch a Enemy ship you have two possibilities.
First: Move your ships/fleets to the Enemy ship and hope that he will not move away the ship, or move your ship where you think your opponent will move his ship.
Second: Rightclick on the Enemy and select "Hunt". If you click "end turn" your ship will follow the Enemy ship. If your ship is faster (has more movingpoints) it can catch the Enemy ship and the battle will start in the Battlephase.
In the rightclick-menu you will get more options or checkboxes, like follow into "Fog of war", "retreat if a stronger Fleet appears", or "select sectors where not to move".
You also can set your ships to special modes, like intercept enemy ships (weaker/stronger): When a Enemy ship hunt one of yours, or just moves in range and your interceptfleet has enough movementpoints left, it will intercept the enemy ship.
You also have a checkbox to interuppt your current Mission, or movement, when a enemy ship appears in range.
The Battlephase:
In the Battlephase your planed movements will be executed and the battles (if any) will be battled.
Conclusion:
I think this mode will be fun for singleplayer too, because you have a lot of new tactical possibilities and its more realistic, as you cant see the movement of your enemies before they happen.
It would speedup multiplayer alot.
This mode will need some more ideas for special mode, like intercept.
