Ok in many ways, this is a far superior game to the previous edition (i only discovered gal civ games last year) and i realise we can expect this one to be a little less complete for a while yet. I know different people have different things they would like seeing to ahead of others so i thought i would list mine.
1- When you are allied to someone having to wait an eternity in between communications is a real drag. its understandable before becoming allies but i'm finding that when i'm playing a fun political game i can't do half the things i want because of this waiting time.
2- Under the ship listing on the side bar i'd like to see the return of fleets so i can just find my deployed fleets without having to remember where they are all the time. going through each individual ship is painful.
3- Diplomacy options in general are quite lacking compared to the last game as in making your enemies also make peace with your allies during peace negotiations (especially if that is the reason you went to war in the first place). Something like gal civs 2 would be much better.
4- God surrenders are utterly game ruining! 24 hours in and i'm starting to eliminate the enemies and hey presto the moment i send a fleet over the border, they surrendered to one of my allies and i was really looking forward to destroying them. I think it's fair to be able to negotiate some surrenders but this way just really takes the fun out the game and i may not play again until i can turn them off! there's no point in having a map with ten enemies when you are quickly going to end up losing them the moment you raise your fists. Another game i played someone surrendered to me for some reason and it was really annoying because i ended up with crappy planets on the other end of the galaxy that disbalanced my economy.
5- Rotating ships with the middle mouse button in the designer is one of the most infuriating things because it changes direction with no warning and kind of either moves ridiculously quick or not at all.
Other than the above the game is great and i'm sure it will be better once i start playing it again but for now the whole surrenders thing is just far too frustrating when i'm sinking such hours into a game. Keep up the good work and i hope to be back on it soon.
