So when I started up the game all seemed fine. I am running on a laptop with what I would guess is near minimal GPU secs (GTX 765 with 2 GB of GDDR 5) so I thought that I would set the graphics options lower than default, also checked not to show the movie. I did, the program said it needed to restart, it did, and first the movie came up. I checked the setting and they were all back to default. I tried a few more times, gave up and played a game. Other than the settings not sticking, it ran fine.
For those who wonder if a laptop can run the game, I have a MSI GE60:
Intel i7-4700MQ @ 2.4 GHz (4 cores w/ hyper threading), 16 GB RAM, GTX 765 with 2 GB of GDDR 5, Windows 8.1 64-bit
It does not do so hot on the benchmark, hitting 10 frames per second frequently and seldom exceeding 20, but in game it was very responsive and playable. There may be an issue later in game (when there are lots of units) on large maps as I only played a small 1 vs 1 map.
