Great game. One question.

I finally got around to getting this game and am playing a game on easy and trying to figure out how everything works.

The only thing I haven't been able to figure out so far it this:

I'm playing Humans. On Earth I have built improvements on all the available tiles. I cannot end the turn without picking something to be built on Earth. The only thing in the production queue I'm even able to build is another starship production facility. I haven't unlocked several of the items under the "projects" tab. So am I just stuck with building new starship production facility until I unlock the other options?

And is there an advantage to having multiple starports around a single planet?

Nevermind about the 1st part. I see stuff like military spending is available.

No, because the game as it currently exists will not allow you to sponsor more than one shipyard with a single planet, and if I recall correctly even the trick of swapping sponsored shipyards from one turn to the next (allowing overproduction to continue production at the first shipyard while the planet provides its output to a second shipyard) has been removed unless you resort to console commands; pretty sure the current version of the game won't normally allow the turn to be ended while an active shipyard has no sponsors.

No, a planet can only sponsor one shipyard. But a shipyard can be sponsored by multiple planets, up to 5.
