I am not sure if anyone has posted about this before, sorry if it has been.
I have regularly observed many units roaming around with selection rings still showing even though I was not commanding those units, and on several occasions when selecting units some would not all would respond.
I tried some experiments on a small map single player against AI to see if I could force these issues. I made a medium sized army, (about 2400 logistics worth of a mix of all of the frigates, cruisers and dreadnoughts) with all of them sent to the top left corner of the map when they were built. When trying to select this many units, not all of them showed as selected after I dragged a selection box over them all.
I moved the "selected" units to the lower right corner of the map. Only about half of the units moved. After the moved units had arrived at their destination in the lower right corner, I clicked away to deselect the units. And the units that had not moved from the top left corner that had selection rings still displayed the selection rings.
This looks like it might be 2 separate bugs:
- Displaying selection rings around units when they are not actually selected.
- Unable to select large numbers of units simultaneously.
