I am throughly enjoying the game so far, but have noticed a few gameplay issues, which i find a bit perculiar.

Maybe im being a bit newbie but, where is the ping function?

Also are there going to be any air based dreadnaughts?

Where are the Gunships?

More things to build that cost pure metal? Since when you hit cruiser/dreadnaught phase radioactives becomes the limiting factor, metal goes through the roof, I can keep spamming t1 but it doesnt do a lot vs the larger units, good for raiding parties tho.

I can answer a few of these just as a Beta player:

There isn't any ping at the moment.  I really, REALLY wish there was.  It's essential to facilitating team games.

AFAIK, air based dreads are not happening.  Air is meant to be a support class anyway.

As much as I would like Gunships, I can't see them fitting into the current balance.

That's kind of the point. Having craptons of T1 will tank for your dreads and T2.  The other option is to use that metal to spam basic defenses.

AI's start cheating at Challenging.  

Team based ranked isn't something that is a huge priority - Ashes doesn't even have a ping function. 

I think they have said gunships will come at some point. They are hard to balance but they are fun. 

I've never read any official word about flying Dreadnought Class units, I also think it could be cool.

I hope they make the current air stuff a bit more fluid and natural looking before then, especially the bombers.

The AI does start to cheat after Normal though nothing like spawning in units or seeing through fog of war. Slight eco and production boosts I believe. Challenge is a little harder than normal but if you can beat Normal then challenge is a fairly comfortable step up, its not suddenly loads harder.
