Played the game yesterday with two friends. That was really fun! We were playing us three vs two AI. We talked about the game after playing it and have some feedback that we really think is important.
- Many times we were trying to tell each other where to go/attack or were to watch out etc. But its really hard (especially on a big asymetric map) to tell exactly were to look without having the possibility to place a marker on the screen. In a cooperative game like Ashes I think this is very needed. It should be possible for me to mark a spot for some seconds that points out a geographic place for my team mates (and gives a sound to alert them).
- We also think that the team colors are hard to distinguish. At least when there are five teams on the map and all of us had 1000+ units each spread all over. Many times I had to mark the units to confirm they were mine. My friends had the same experience. The colors should be clearer or in one or another way distinguish more between the teams. The same goes for metal spots. It was to hard to see if the metal spot was taken by me or another player (especially between some colors ex. orange and yellow)
- Another thing that struck me under the game is that It would be useful to be able to mark some points of interest on one of the minimaps (for my own interest). Forexample; After building my first set of factories (usually near my main base) everything is fine. But after a while when the fronts are far away from this point I often set the factories to send the produced units other places on the map. It would be very useful to be able to mark this new arrival point in the minimap. Then I can easy set other factory routes to the same spot. Also for other purposes this could be useful.
Just some thoughts!
