I just played a game long enough that I lost to the AI. I assume it was to the Yor, as they were about 30,000 civ power, but the game did not actually say who won.
It just said "Technological Victory" to some unnamed opponent. And Defeat to me.
Would be nice if the winner was explicitly spelled out.
