Many of PC gamers (like me) like overclocking GPU to boost additional performance.
When do such thing, stress test + error checking is crucial. The final goal of overclocking is that making the additional performance stable, and not frequent bluescreen
For many years of past, OCCT GPU test held the king of the hill (see http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2195063 ) but by year 2016, it is already outdated. (cannot test NVIDIA Maxwell and Pascal GPUs)
There is some relatively up-to-date testers like EVGA OC Scanner X. While it provide convenient interface and settings for GPU artifact scanner, it is actually not work well. (Run smoothly without any error, even if the GPU is overly-boosted and so actually not stable)
From what I recently heard, low level API like Mantle and DX12 are very sensitive of GPU error. Than I recall about Star Swarm and AtoS, very early adapter of such API.
I tried Star Swarm Stress Test on Steam but it's not running on my computer (Win10 64bit, GTX970), so I decided to try AtoS.
I did only a few test run with AtoS ingame benchmark, but already found solid evidence that AtoS DX12 is far more sensitive about GPU error, surely surpass EVGA OC Scanner X by great margin and likely to worth to match OCCT's past glory.
I believe it would be the great boost of your reputation among enthusiast (and overclocker) games if you make GPU artifact scanner based on AtoS DX 12 benchmark. Plz, consider about it at least.
