AshesEscalation_DX12.exe has stopped interacting with Windows....

Application hang.

Core i7 6850K

4x8GB DDR4 3000

2xGTX 970

Samsung m.2 512GB 

 

 

I'm playing the single player campaign and I'm on the 5th mission, I think. Near the beginning. And about 5 minutes into it, it hangs. Loud pop from my speakers, and it crashes saying the application has stopped, do I want to wait or close it. It's done it 3 times, I think about the same amount of time played into that level, same crash. I can't find anything online about the problem. Any ideas?

I've not seen that particular error before. Someone once fixed an issue by re-installing directx on their system so that might be worth a shot for you too.

it's only on that one level. I just played a skirmish and was able to complete it no problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, checked the files with Steam, installed DX again. All the same problem. Just that single level, same amount of time into the game, it crashes.

I just tried it on DX11 as well and it crashed on there as well. I think I noticed exactly when it happens now, too. As soon as I build an armoury. When it's completed, one of the tasks at the beginning of the level, the game crashes. Both in DX11 and DX12.

As I said, all other levels I played up until then work no problem, and even played a single player skirmish without issues. I really like the game so far and would like to continue the campaign.

Sounds like a level specific bug. Perhaps drop in an official report to Support.

Are you holding down the shift key when the armoury completes?  Can you get past that point if the shit key is not held down?

no, I'm not holding down the shift key. I'm usually working on other things when it happens, that's why I didn't notice it before that it was happening at that specific moment.

 

I opened up a ticket earlier today. It's definitely level specific. I've been playing skirmishes all day without problems. Getting my a$$ handed to me by the computer, mostly because I haven't played the campaign and haven't learned the tech tree and such.

 

A couple of things I'm surprised about. No regular unit AA. You can build an AA turret, or the big guys, but no little AA guys. Also, something I find missing that's in other RTS games. No formations. A couple of other things, but still enjoying the game so far.

Curious. Is it possible that someone could email me a saved game file of right after the armoury is built? Since it's right at the beginning of the board, I'm not really loosing any game play or story line, especially since I've already done it 9 times now.

just wanted to say I got by it this morning. OCD, so I can't leave things alone, lol. This morning, I didn't multitask any units, but went step by step until after I built the armoury, then continued on and started my engineers all working on different projects.

never mind. Now I'm having the same problem with a later level, one where you have to multitask or you die.
