What would be cool under a mixture of diplomacy/trade you can barter with friends/allies to build one of their special buildings (not of your tech) on your planet?
Basically you have to have special contract (from diplomacy tree) and then under the trade tree another tech which allows them to build on your planet.
Just some thoughts.
