Hi guys,
I have the following questions, and have noticed the following problems/issues. Game version is latest beta 2.14 opt-in.
Questions
- What's the difference between a legion and a garrison - both defend against invasion? If so, what's the point of using turns building garrisons? Also - does a general accompany a legion, but is not necessarily present with a garrison?
- 85 turns to train a legion from a Military Academy on my average planet - does that seem strange to you, especially when you get FIVE legions for free with every general you promote?
- What do you guys do with your troop transports now? I mean, you invade a planet and take it, then all your transports are in orbit. But you don't want them there in case the AI attacks your planet with warships. Instead, you want your warships in orbit around your captured planet. So what do you do with all those troop transports? Now they are kind of in the way, even though I understand the change in Crusade that lets you hang onto them, instead of them just disappearing when you invaded a planet.
- Have you found the AI has the killer instinct? I'm currently only playing on Easy, but have found the AI (Krynn) wipe out all my ships, shipyards and bases, but fail to actually finish me off and take my planets and thus win the game. Instead, they wipe out all my space-faring or space-bound stuff and then ask for peace! Seems strange??
- Isn't it time to strengthen hit points for freighters and troop transports? I know these are meant to be easy to shoot down, but it makes no sense that a single, tiny-hull warship has more hit points than an entire fleet of transports! Freighters and transports are giant, hulking ships. They may not be armed but it's unrealistic to think they would have no armour or strong hulls.
Observation
- In my current Easy game, the AI Krynn's shipyard had 680 sponsor points! How the hell did that happen, and what does one do to counter it? The most my shipyard could do was about 100 sponsor points. This was on "Easy". I dread to think what it's like on Godlike...
Thanks.
