I know it's still very early days but I would like some folks to chime in on what you think is a good rig for playing "ludicrous" galaxies tolerably well?
At the mo, I'm getting quite noticeable turn slow-down heading towards 300 turns in, and that is only with one AI "discovered" yet.
My game actually locked up completely/froze towards 400 turns on an "excessive" galaxy, though I am hoping this is an issue they can fix.
Current specs are:
i7-4770K (oc to 4.5GHz)
32GB DDR3 RAM-1866 MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
SanDisk Ultra II SSD
I suppose one thing I want to ask is about increasing the number of CPU cores. As far as I can see the latest 8-core CPUs operate at a rather slower clock speed than my oc'ed 4-core. Does Crusade make much use of multi-threading? Would the extra cores, even at a slower clock speed, make an appreciable difference to things like turn times, or would these actually be slower with the 8 cores?
Thanks for your thoughts.
