Played another 400+ turns trying to see if i can get the AI to not just spam tiny and small ships with may 2-3 medium tech weapons and then tons of 1dmg starter filler weapons while having everything unlocked.
I assume there is something wrong with the ship blueprints and the way GC3 handled the xml and now how crusade interprets things. Because it just makes no sense how (for science) i keep playing super long games with the intent of just seeing if the godlike AI will actually do something besides spam small ships and spam support ships.
Was crusade actually built off of the live 2.X version of GC3? It seems like Crusade acts very very similar to early beta GC3 in terms of how bad the AI handles ships and fleets.
It has to be the blueprints in some regard because even you go into a game and unlock everything all the default stuff presented to you to build is just free 1dmg weapons. The amount of hours spent on trying to make this expansion that has soo much potential enjoyable is just completely driving me nuts. Though i have looked at the blueprint xml and it looks poor but it isn't specing out starter weapons so i assume the game just cannot make ships anymore?
The second issue with the AI just spamming small/tiny ships change i hope that isn't what the CEO AI redesigner meant when he said the AI was going to be brutal and not fun because it will be kicking you butt. I really hope his solution to a tough AI is just not spam 100s of small ships at you non stop, when half the time the AI spams small ships and they do nothing.
Anyways i cannot imagine im the only one who is having this issue. Too many reinstalls and clean games for it to just be me. Is everyone else just not noticing they are fighting Laser/Stingers/Cheap Rail guns all game? Yes with an occasional ship with 1-3 middle tech weapons then filled with crap.
