When I am looking for where to send my next colony ship, I review my options on the planet list in the HUD.  I click on a planet, and it takes me there, deactivating the focus from my colony ship.  Make it possible to just right-click the planet on the HUD to send my ship there please!  For that matter, make it possible to send any ship this way, not just colony ship.  

Along the same lines, make it possible to focus my screen on something I select in the HUD, without actually selecting that thing.  When I am reviewing where to send, say, a constructor, I will want to send it close to a planet, but not directly to the planet.  It's somewhat annoying to have to find the planet twice -- once to nail down where exactly on the display I will find that planet, and then again with the constructor selected so I can specify exactly where to send it.
