Overall, the game feels good to play. However there are a few points that I want to address.
1. I liked the previous research screen. It made it easy to search by different categories, and there was even a search bar. I also like how you can reorganize the techs you have queued.
However, both the new and the old suffer from a problem where you can queue a lot of techs, and the list goes offscreen. No way to reorganize those techs except canceling a bunch of techs or wait until some techs get completed.
2. I like how planets could build starbases once you got the tech. However, I didn't like the capital ship starbase component thing. I rather have that constructor thing that sins 1 had. It takes 2 minutes to add to the capital ship, then it takes additional time to build once deployed; more if the planet is neutral or hostile.
3. I dislike how some planet improvements require a minimum level to acquire. I like queuing up the development of planets, and dislike waiting for a planet to level up before you acquire something.
4. Buying orbital structures don't give build times.
5. Starbase factory does not contribute to garrisons. I expected that a properly equipped starbase would build ships for the garrison when idle, like shipyards, but it didn't work. It has the means to build 3 kinds of starships, so I thought it'd more convenient than building 2 kinds of shipyards.
6. Ferrous planets has the regional government offices as a build option, but they can't level up high enough to build them. Ferrous planets max level is 9, but the component needs a level 10 planet.
7. Autobid. Some times I get distracted by something and miss my chance to bid on what ever auctions that were active at the time. Many times the AIs don't try to bid anything, so I can win with just a hundred credits, so its a wasted opportunity I miss it. It would be nice if I could automatically bid something so I would have my foot in the door if no one else bothers.
8. Move orbital structures. Because planets can now orbit stellar object, structures positioned to defend a planet from one direction can now wind up facing the wrong way as time moves along. It'd be nice if you could reposition stuff you have built.
Thats it for now. Hopefully I have more feedback later.
