I've tried DAP, it looks pretty but its not that great, I've had problems where it doesnt recognize the end of a file and keeps downloading i-don't-know-what, even after the correct filesize has already been downloaded...
Since then, i've switched to flashget. Its worked fine for me and i know it supports full length dvd-9 size files, and its got all the functionality I need: up to 10 connections per file, resume broken downloads automatically, supports password protected downloads, and it has a scheduler, among other features. Theres a free version available, only difference between the free and shareware is that there is an ad banner on the free one (don't worry though, there is NO spyware with it, i double checked that when i first installed with both spybot and ad-aware).
give it a try if you're looking for a new download manager, the website is at www.amazesoft.com.
