Research Button needs prozac?

Whenever I restore a saved game, the research button on the main screen is depressed, er, pressed in. Clicking on it opens the research screen, then it seems to act normally. Clicking on the other buttons opens their screen and 'fixes' the research button...

The research button is still depressed in 3E when coming back from a saved game.
