Balance versus galaxy size

At the moment there is a noticeable problem with balance versus galaxy size. I've now completed beta 3d games on all galaxy sizes and the following balance issues arise.

tiny and small galaxies
- influence victories are too easy. I've won games within 100 turns!!!
- resources are about right

medium galaxies
- best all round balance.
- too many identical resources leads to walk away victories.

large and gigantic galaxies
- influence is perfect
- resources are overpowering.

I would suggest the following balance changes.
influence: scale down as galaxy size decreases
resources: scale down as galaxy size increases

Perhaps resource effect should be divided by the number of systems? This would fix the problem for larger galaxies and end game expansion while keeping those initial few resources very valuable.

Paul.

About balancing...
Ranges at Huge are too wide at the beginning. You are really not worried about ranges.

Big ships (transports and colony) should have miserable ranges (1 and 2 at beginning). Could also be a factor of n° of beeings loaded.
Colonies Transports
Below 100M ---> 2 2
Over 100M ---> 1 1
1 or 2 beeing the the number of adiacent sectors rings.
Ranges techs would add +1 to the above.
Starbases could extend ranges beeing considered as planets.

Additionally: in GC OS/2 we had 1/2 speed for sectory with no star.
I liked it since was adding complexity to routings like mountains do in an earth map.
Please bring it back.

Agree with range limits that can increase as techs are discovered and developed. Made a hughe impact on the
game in GC Gold OS/2.

Influence does need to be toned down. have one too many games on Gigantic Galaxy that way. Would like to discover much later techs. Never gotten to Beyond Human yet!

Transports are already Range 0, from what I remeber.
