Blizzard Apologizes to 'GLBT friendly' GM

According to In Newsweekly, World of Warcraft publisher, Blizzard Entertainment, has apologized for threatening to ban one of its players for inviting other players into a "GLBT friendly" guild.
Sara Andrews, the player who was threatened had the following to say after receiving the apology: "I'm very happy that Blizzard has owned up to the mistake, apologized and corrected it," Andrews wrote to In Newsweekly. "I am, however, curious to see what they mean by their current policy being 'under review.' Does this mean that they're going to review the policy with their staff so they don't misinterpret it again? Does this mean they're going to make it clearer for their GMs [Game Masters] to understand? Or does this mean that they're going to try and change it to match what Caydiem's statement said?"
Caydiem's address stated that "we will be clarifying some of the language in our game policies in order to help avoid such confusion in the future." That statement was the last address of the issue from Blizzard until the public apology.
In response the firm has decided to open another channel for players to recruit guild members. Paul Sams, Blizzard Entertainment's chief operating officer, contacted In Newsweekly and said, "What we've done is decided to add a guild recruitment channel to the game... providing players with a designated area where they can advertise their guilds in an appropriate fashion."
