Lookout, readers, I'm bad luck!

So, yesterday I asked my good friend (let's call her "ShMel") if she would like to be my date to my brothers wedding on June 5th. She accepted. It's cool, too, cause my departure date is June 8th, and I'll get to party with my friends before I go!

Anyway, hours after ShMel agreed to accompany, she IMed me and told me that she had possibly broken her ankle. She was going to pick up our friend ShBrian from a party when she slipped on some ice and heard a crack. I told her it was probably the ice that made the crack, but she didn't believe me. This is especially bad news for her, because she's a dancer.

So, the moral of the story is...if you're a friend of mine, and I ask you to be my date, say no. It's healthier for you.

I hate wedding dates! I have the most abysmal luck with them as well. In the past couple of years, I've been invited to 3 weddings on one side of the family. 3 times, my date did not show. Valid reasons for each one, but still.... Now it's a big family joke about inviting me and a guest. Labelled a loser by my whole family... blahhh.

Ted, remember when I told you about that dream where that guy I thought was Neal stole the chick I liked, and you said I couldn't even score in my dreams...yeah, it's kinda like that.

Also, to clarify, just because my date is broken, doesn't mean our date is broken (think about it)
