Some Suggestions and a quick path to victory.

Hi,
I just recently purchased the beta (Wednesday) and have spent a good deal of time playing the game. It is a lot of fun! I have a few suggestions and a quick path to victory listed below.
1.) Limit the amount of troops that a troop transport can carry. (apply this to colonization ships as well)
2.) Move the transport technology back further.
3.) Have the free ships one obtains be limited to a scout, or at least limited to what there current technology could build. (getting a battle cruiser so early in the game lets you dominate all other players)
4.) Give more troop bonuses to the defending player, rather than the attacker.
5.) Give your starting planets some stationary defenses units.
It is incredibly easy to win the game with early assaults. I've played this way on both tiny and small with all the AI's set to genius. I'm sure this tactic will be more difficult (or impossible) on the larger maps and I will give it a try soon. My political party was a War party or tech party. I've also put all of my advantage points into speed. This is not necessary on the tiny map, have not tried it on small yet.
The game goes like this:
-Immediately set your technology spending to 100% and spending to 100%. You can immediately colonize a planet in your home system (to gain the extra research) or head it towards a colony to increase your ship range.
-Use your explorer ship to explore nearby stars and find your first victim. If you get some free ships it will speed up your conquest but they are not necessary.
-By Oct/Nov of the first year you should have the impulse drive and the ability to create transports. If you happened to get a free ship or found a weapon upgrade for your explorer move it towards your first victim. If not, then either go for a defender or star fighter depending on the range of the closest target. You can get a defender a few months sooner than a star fighter.
-Now switch your production to 100% military. Have your home planet build a troop transport and your colony build the star fighter/defender. Your transport will have a speed of 3. Load 90% of the population into your transport and move it towards the first enemy planet. Declare war and attack. Most likely they will not have any defense only colony ships, constructors, and freighters. Have that planet build a transport and load most of the population back into it.
-REPEAT
Its that simple. I love snatching the Bradians AI's 26 home planet early on as well. Often you reach the first planet so fast they don't even have another colony set up so when you take the planet it all over for them. If a civilization has a few colonies it is best to attack them all at the same time, they will start to build defenders after you have declared war on them.
