suggestion for senate

If the people vote a new senate, why not then taking the votes to redistribute the pro's and cons instead of just apllying a penalty if your party lost ?
i.e. if a new Senate is elected, then determin the pro's and cons in dependence of number of seats.

For that matter, I'd like to propose an alternate scheme:

Total bonuses=(your party bonus)*(% seats your party)+(party 1 bonus)*(% seats party 1)+...

You chould change that to + to - if you want. That way, even though your party's in power, you would get affected if party 1 had the rest of the senate.

sounds good to me, perhaps a player bonus can be implemented. i.e. your favorite party gets twice as much, well it's a bit unrealistic but it gives your empire more your flavor.

yea but thats absolute.

the idea above is proportional. I dont like losing control and losing all benefits. Assuming(!) this is a democratic system, then losing an election loses a proportion of influence not all.

However (like in UK with tories at the moment), the longer u r out the more influence u lose.
