A couple of things on 3E

Hi,

Playing 3E I have noticed a couple of things which seem odd:

Tribute:
In one of my games I am currently unable to offer to trade anything to anyone for tribute - I can select the amount and duration, but when I select done nothing is added to the 'barter box'. Is this intentional? Is there any way to view existing tribute?

Special Resources:
Is there any way to quickly locate special resources using the galaxy map - I am currently having to (painfully) scan the whole map by hand.

Spending (and other) sliders:
There appears to be a bug related to the updating of the sliders if you drag them. If you drag the spending slider to the top quickly it doesnt update the total BC amount quickly enough. Thus 100% spending can have different BC amounts displayed. I assume this is a display issue, as the totals seem to be alright when you return to the screen - it can just lead to to being broke very quickly :(

Having fun

Tribute:

This sounds like you are asking for more per month than they have, or you are asking for less than a minimum amount (which, if my observations are accurate, is 10BC/month).

Spending slider:

Others have noted this, but I wonder if SD really understands the problem. GC/OS2 had the same problem, but it was stated then that the values shown were just appoximations. It makes me wonder why I can get a better "approximation" just by hitting the domestic policy button again (which, incidentally, seems to recalculate the spending amount very accurately). BTW, you don't have to leave the domestic spending screen to do this.

Other sliders:

You may want to detail the specific cases you see. For instance I have noticed (and thought it had already been reported) that the "loading xxx" slider has a tendency to be jumpy. 1). I can't get it to give me a 1% change if it is in the lowest 5% area. 2) Sometimes when I am trying to get a 1% increment, up or down, it will jump to where I clicked instead. Sometimes, when this happens, I can get a 1% increment if I hold the LMB (left mouse button) down for many seconds, but sometimes even that doesn't work.

All sliders:

I find it odd, and counterintuitive, that clicking the scroll bar like background of a slider causes only a 1% movement while, on some slikers, clicking the end arrows moves the sliders a greater amount. This is opposite from every scroll bar I have used on windows and OS/2. On some sliders, the arrows don't work at all. On other sliders, the arrows and the slider background areas give the same 1% movement. There is too much inconsistancy here, both within the game and between the gmae and the defacto standards we are used to, and it should be looked at by SD. If defacto standards are to be followed (IMO they shoujld) then clicking an end arrow should move the slider one increment and clicking the slider background area should move the slider more (5% is good for most of the sliders, IMO).

Actually, you can ask for any amount, it just doesn't correctly recognize it if there's only one keypress, for some reason. Entering 01bc or 01 influence points does work.

That sounds like a bug.
