Unknown opposition

I just wanted to bring up something that was mentioned here before, to keep it from being forgotten.

I and some others had indicated that we would like to be able to pick a difficulty level, and have the computer randomly assign the relative abilities of the computer players based on this choice. This lets the player have a say in how hard the game will be, without letting him know from the beginning that AI player X is stupid, while AI playe Y is a genius. We'd have to find that out during play.

Possibly this is already part of the game. In the manual, there is a reference to choosing "cakewalk," and I saw that term in the end game report after my first game. However, I can't see where that choice is available. Perhaps it will be in the next release.

"cakewalk" is gone. You used to be able to pick what difficulty level you wanted and it would give you a certain number of "picks" at the beginning. "cakewalk" was when you had 10 picks, like now. It was taken out so that you'd always have a choice on how many picks to use, without the extra button click to choose between difficulty levels...
