Game Mechanic Questions

Just a bunch of questions here:

1.) What is the formula for the planets base income and production capacities (Military, Social, Research)

2.) Why does a 100% research bonus (putting all 10 advantage picks into research) only give you a 50% bonus. Ie your planet is spending 20 and gets +10 extra. How does this apply when build planatary improvedments?

3.) What does the starship bonus do? (Shipyard, Quality Control...)

4.) How do the engine technologies affect ship speed? With the combination of racial speed advantages. For example, your explorer ship will move at a 2 when your race has no speed advantages. When you research impulse you ship will then move at 3. Now if you started with 100% in speed improvements your explorer starts at 4 and then moves at a 5 with the impulse engine. I would think it should move at 6 at that point. Does your speed advantage only apply to the base speed of the ship and then the engine techs are applied?

Thanks,

'1.) What is the formula for the planets base income and production capacities (Military, Social, Research)'

Noone has those formulas, and they probably won't be given out until post-release, if at all. Not to mention that they seem to behave more along the lines of a table than a formula.

'3.) What does the starship bonus do? (Shipyard, Quality Control...)'

Improves a ship's base stats (until it's traded, at which time the ship gets stripped down before it's handed over).

'4.) How do the engine technologies affect ship speed?'

Racial speed bonuses are 10% per point of your ships' base moves. Despite what the stats screen reads, techs are a flat +1 move, and the trade good Gravity Boosters are a flat +3 moves.
