Usually all you have to do is unzip your download and click on the .wal file and it will self install. If it is just a folder after you unzip the download...move the folder to the skins folder within the WinAmp folder under "programs."

The alpine skin is 'alpine.wal'.

Right-click the download button...

Save-as 'alpine.wal' to desktop

Double-click the downloaded file on the desktop and it will self-install...

Not sure what your doing or where your getting the apline.wal skin...but it downloads from the WinAmp library here as apline.wal...no files or anything else except the file to install it. Maybe the browser your using is messing it up...not sure...I used firefox.

Skin 'files' are generally renamed zips....in other words 'Alpine.zip' is renamed to 'alpine.wal' so that it is auto recognized by Winamp as a skin for it.

Rename that thing you looked into and found all those files...rename it to 'alpine.wal'....and double-click it....

Why is it that this download comes as a .zip for some and a .wal for others? Based in whats downloading for me...a .wal file, he shouldn't have to rename anything...just click the file.

Service pack 2 has been known to re-assign archives to 'zip'...so downloads are saved as such instead of their 'bootskin' or 'wba' or in this case 'wal' "rename".

That's why I referred to the process of "right click and save as".....
