Movies choppy, sound skipping

The movies play fine on my desktop. But on my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 9300, the movies, starting the with Stardock logo one, chop and skip every 2seconds or so. The audio and the video are affected.

Any suggestions?

Turn the anti-aliasing down to 0 in the Options and that should help.

I'm having the same problem...although the intro movie is blank, with the movie's sound playing normally in the background. The in-game movies and strangely the tutorials are very choppy. Even the news robot's animations are slow. I've tried turning the anti-aliasing off in the options, I've updated my video card's drivers (geforce 5200), I've updated the video codecs, updated and re-arranged the priorities for the audio codecs...nothing seems to work :(

The game itself works fine...it's just the minor niggles above ;)
