Help my collectors edition CD key wont work?

How do I download the collectors editions upgrade/patch, the link on the main page
says "i am not registered", I registered using the CD key on the CD case
but then I downloaded stardock and updated my registration with the collector edition CD Key
do I need to uninstall/reinstall register?

Try searrfhing forums.galciv2.com There's proably a sticky post for you.

Or go to irc.stardock.com and join /#galciv. There is always help there.
