create a new section

now that we are going to be very active in reporting crashes - we should make a seperate folder for beta crash reports - so we don't clutter the general discussion.

Thoughts?

Yes I agree with that, though could'nt we send them to Cari?

Also would it be possible to have an "Information for Beta Testers" button on the side bar with all the info we need like how to get smart exception and how to get the info to the development team. Would be a lot easyer than trawling through past posts.

By all means, send them to Cari. There are times, like now while trying to get a new build ready for access, that the Stardock people will not see what is being said on the forum, and when they do get back to the forum they may miss quite a few posts.

As to a bug list, Brad told me in a private note that he will be having a list of known bugs posted after the Beta 4 build is available. That's not quite what you are asking for, but it is so close to the closing of the beta program that I don't see how it would be worth the effort to set up something separate.

After the Beta closes? I don't know, but (and perhaps obviously):

1) I don't know when it will close,

2) I seem to remember him saying something about a limited gama, limited that is to a few testers (I assume for the purpose of ensuring the stability and balance of the game). Other than that, I would guess that we could just start enjoying Beta 4 until Feb 25 (the last anounced ship date of release 1.0). I would continue reporting bugs, but I would not expect them to be fixed for the release unless it was a really serious one.

3) I don't know what we can expect from SD during the period between Beta closure and the final release date of 1.0, but I would NOT expect any fixes before release date.

4) Any new suggestions would certainly have to be for future releases.

5) With GC/OS2 Brad put out lots of upgrades. More often than not an upgrade included bug fixes AND new features. I don't see any reason why he would change that philosophy.
