I would like to suggest the following addition: automaticaly upgrade of core design on constuctors, colony ships and freighters with the latest engines available.
This new feature can be turned on/off in the game options for folks who would rather design their own util. ships.
The reason I would like to suggest this is that later on in the game I find it a bit annoying having to upgrade engines to make my ships move faster. I end up having 5-6 "user" designs with engines being the only difference.
