I don't know if this is what is happening, but it is possible that the have it blocked while putting up the new download for Beta 4.

Have alook at thedropdowns at the top of the game manager. If you see show all betas click on it then it may come up. If that is the problem.

Red101 may be correct. I just checked my DGM and games shows GC. But since I have the latest update installed there are two possible explanations for what you saw, Red101's and mine.

However, with SD building Beta 4 and getting it ready for our access, I would suggest waiting until Beta 4 is up and ready.

beta pull down i don't see any beta pull down?

It's on the options tab pull that down and show betas is on there. Or should be.

Now I see what is happening. You are trying to download Galciv from the forum. It doesn't work that way. Your confirmation latter should have instructions for downloading and installing the Drengin Game Manager (DGM). Then when you start DGM wait until it loads completely (it has to pull down news updates) then pull down the options list from the menu bar and click on "show betas". Then click on the "games" icon on the left side and you should see the game icon for GalCiv or a list of games including GalCiv.

Any good programmer has to be a detective. Finding bugs in your own code can sometimes be challenging. Finding it in someone elses can sometimes challenge even the best deductive mind.

Yea Saw that first. I thought you might have something to say. Actually I thought you let him off lightly. All I can say is that I and everone else seems to be happy with arraingment and I did'nt have a problem understanding the "deal".But you always get one.

Brad is a pretty calm guy. I don't know how he does it.

BTW, afterwards I got to thinking about it. I could have been a bit more encouraging and tried to talk him into it. After all, I am having a blast with it, and it would be a shame if someone felt excluded.

I favor this system because of these reasons:

1) You want people who are interested in this genre enough that they'd be customers of it.

2) You want people who are are going to be openly critic of a game they bought. I.e. "I bought this game and I have a right to criticize it."

Most of the betas I've been on where the beta is "free" ends up a battle between "fan boys" and people who don't really care about that type of game at all.

I think we've all benefited by having this system because the final game has the kind of feedback and user input that one usually only sees in a sequel.

There are also a lot of people that want to be on a beta to play the game without buying the end product. That may be why some game creaters keep the list of beta testers short. I don't know if that was what was happening here or not.

It is a shame, however, if he was just unwilling to give the game a chance just because he had to pay for it.

Funny I always thought it was our privalage to take part in the beta test. Point 2 is a very positive and proves your commitment to making a good game for your customers. Not that I didn't think that before but it is still nice to see that kind of commitment in writing.

I am sorry to harp on about this but could we have a page in the encyclopedia for beta testers. To explain where to get smart exception. What to do if you have a stange problem that can be saved etc. It may not be needed now but when the game is released and we have a lot of new members, I think it would be good.
